Dear Families,

Welcome to a brand-new school year, 2025-2026! I'm thrilled to be teaching your child in our Technology class, where we’ll explore digital tools, Artificial Intelligence, keyboarding skills, online safety, and creative ways to solve real-world problems using technology. In our class, students will discover how to use technology responsibly and creatively. From learning to type with confidence to designing digital art and coding simple programs, they'll build a foundation that supports both academic success and future career readiness. Students will also go on field trips to enhance their learning experience.

What to Expect This Year:

Across all grade levels, students will:

• Develop keyboarding proficiency using age-appropriate drills and games
• Learn fundamental coding concepts (especially in upper grades)
• Explore online safety, including privacy, etiquette, and cyberbullying awareness
• Practice digital citizenship through collaborative activities
• Use technology to create presentations, artwork, and animations
• Build problem-solving and critical thinking through tech-based challenges

Class Expectations:

To ensure a productive and fun environment, students are expected to:

• Come prepared and ready to engage
• Respect the equipment and use it properly
• Follow digital safety guidelines
• Collaborate respectfully with classmates
• Stay on task and give their best effort

I will reinforce both hard skills, such as typing, and soft skills, like teamwork, because success in today’s tech-driven world requires both!
